  • last night was insane. i was sat around a table with Jimmy Wales (wiki founder) on one side and Josh nguyen & mark coatney (product director & director at tumblr) on the other. wish i'd taken a picture. and not forced them to drink so much.

  • have always said i hated tupac, but was listening to an ode to him by Jay Electronica this morning and just read that he's kendrick lamar's favourite emcee. ok, so who can give me a two three to listen to? i've outright dismissed him to date.

  • Sat reading about business models (I like that stuff) in the grounds of hackney church, there's a food market, someone is playing great music from their stall (currently "here comes the sun"), and the sun is blazing. This isn't hipsterville, like London fields: I just shared my bench with an African family having a picnic, talking about the difference between Kent and London (apparently it's mainly that there are less dogs and they like that). Shame that Mrs Q is away with work. Still, I've got this week's Sunday sample crunch to do and the sample is HOT.

Stunning graphics from 1961 by John Whitney… did this really use a computer? in which case, wow.

Whitney is considered by many to be the father of computer graphics

Cologne highly underrated in my opinion

ok, i’m giving in to reblogging when i see something hot. and this is hot.

The Soft Moon “Parallels” (via onis01)

Like, wow. I didn’t reblog… until now.

Graeme Taylor captures the world using a high-speed video camera on a fast-moving train.

i collected over 2,000 Nike sneaker pictures from shops and a few sneaker blogs and put together this video. The aim was to visualize the music using sneakers. Some parts track the beats, bass and other sounds, some follow the vocal.I can’t believe how well it’s gone - Sneaker News, Freshness mag and FunkMaster Flex all blogged about it. SWEET!

The next video will use sneakers pictures from people I know and fly creps that i see on Tumblr… so if you clicked like on your post I’m probably jacking it. Holler at me if you mind. If you want your sneakers featured, check the link on the right. This one is going to be MASSIVE (and i have a pretty amazing surprise that will blow you away)

The post below is the same video but in Vimeo, which is a bit bigger.

here’s the same video but in Vimeo - i have a feeling people would rather reblog Vimeo than Youtube, so this is a little experiment. Forgive the duplication.

Download the track from "2,000 Sneakers"

here’s the track that was used for the 2000 Sneakers video, if anyone wants to grab it. There’s a limit on downloads, so if you can’t get it, holler at me on minijacked at gmail.

The originals are Step Pon Dem by Assassin and Flat Beat by Mr Oizo. Mine is called Step Pon Eric. Dah.

Step Pon Eric - Assassin & Mr Oizo by noisybunch

it’s not a new video, but i just discovered this ace music visualization by Renaud Hallée and i figured it was worth sharing. I was mesmerized by the simplicity at first, and naturally the guy wanted to push the technology he’d build to create it, but it loses a little of it’s wonder. Still, what a stunna…

wow, this is so simple and tight… doesn’t need much else to be said. But i want some of this stuff.

amazing stop animation i found when preparing my own. Great graphics using coins and an overhead projector

Bobby McFerrin, singing science: This is insanely good. Can you watch this without a smile on your face? I didn’t realise quite what a genius this guy is. OK, the science may be a bit off, but hell, dude rocks.

Don't Worry, Be Happy, Dancehall Nice Again

Don’t Worry, Be Happy - Bobby McFerrin, Cobra, Beanie Man by noisybunch

Really I just wanted to test posting files from soundcloud (it really does rock BTW), but this suited this sleepy Sunday afternoon. This was a track i did back in 2006 - kinda suitable for this lazy Sunday afternoon.

It would be a crime if i didn’t post the original track - it’s pop genius. Holler if you want the details for the Beanie Man/ Cobra tracks.

Martina Topley Bird - Golden Brown. Golden brown is probably my favourite song of all time, pound for pound. Take Five by Dave Brubeck and Ole by John Coltrane make up the other couple at the top, but Golden Brown just knocks me for six. I found this version by Martina TB (yep, the lady from the first Tricky LP) and she still has it. Seemed a suitable first post, somehow. Read the History page if you want to know more about this blog.

I don't know why mixcloud isn't embedable. Apparently it's on the way. Stop me if you've head this one before...

I've got about 20 mixes waiting to get cut up and uploaded... Sunday, Sunday, maybe. Anyway, for anyone that used to come to our 333/Motherbar, Jaguar Shoes or Hoxton Bar sessions, you'll enjoy some of these.
